Relayer
About Relayer

Bridging the gap between the glory days of classic rock and current “modern rock" genres, RELAYER forges a unique blend of 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and current material into a repertoire that truly defines the phrase, "Classic Rock and Beyond".

RELAYER was formed in 2008, by four members with a desire to play quality rock music, that while resonating with the band would still be accessible and entertaining to a wide variety of audiences. While the music of RELAYER echoes the influences of the band members, RELAYER’S prime objective is to provide a great live show with familiar material that puts the audience first.

Unlike many cover bands, who form their set list from stale material covered by the member’s previous bands, RELAYER took the approach of building their repertoire song by song, with a concerted effort to only play quality material that is well known and accessible; RELAYER covers classic rock material that remains timeless from bands like The Who and U2, while also playing popular songs from modern bands like The Foo Fighters and Buck Cherry.
Often compared favorably to their influences, the members of RELAYER play an appealing mix of classic and new rock cover songs, with a combination of structured performance and “fun time attitude” that makes them a live act worth seeing.

Currently planning on an extensive series of appearances in the DC area starting in early 2009, the members of RELAYER are:
Dave Maida – Lead Vocals, Acoustic and Electric Guitars
Chris Boswell – Electric Guitar and Vocals
Jay Storey – Bass and Vocals
Mike Ball - Drums and Vocals

With material that spans time periods and musical genres, and a live show that offers a unique mix of musicianship and rock attitude, RELAYER is a group that any fan of music with style and substance can appreciate.
